On the penultimate day of the UEC Juniors and Under-23 Track European Championships, held in Anadia until Sunday, Italy once again took centre stage, claiming two gold medals. The Netherlands and Great Britain also strengthened their positions on the overall medal table.

In the Under-23 Women’s 1km Time Trial, Alina Lysenko secured the gold with a dominant performance, stopping the clock at 1:05.274. Rhian Edmunds (Great Britain) claimed silver, and Clara Schneider (Germany) took bronze.

The Under-23 Omnium saw victories for the Netherlands and Spain. Lisa van Belle (Netherlands) won the women’s event with a total of 148 points, ahead of Maddie Leech (Great Britain), who scored 134, and Clémence Chéreau (France), with 124. In the men’s competition, Héctor Álvarez (Spain) claimed gold with 156 points, followed by Rik van der Wal (Netherlands) with 142 and Ilya Savekin with 134.

In the Junior Points Races, Mark Popov dominated the men’s event with 64 points in an aggressive race. Heimo Fugger (Austria) finished second, with Julian Bortolami (Italy) taking bronze. In the women’s race, Chantal Pegolo (Italy) earned gold with 38 points, ahead of Polina Danshina and Ida Dam Fialla (Denmark).

The Keirin events brought excitement to the evening session. Benjamin Bock (Germany) was the strongest in the Junior Men’s final, beating Archie Gill (Great Britain) and Dovydas Činga (Lithuania). In the Junior Women’s Keirin, the gold medal went to Siria Trevisan (Italy), with Emilia Waterstradt (Germany) in second and Zita Gheysens (Belgium) in third.

The day concluded with the Under-23 Men’s Sprint final, where Nikita Kiriltsev claimed the European title, defeating Lowie Nulens (Belgium) and Marcus Hiley (Great Britain).

With just one day remaining, Italy leads the medal table with 10 golds and a total of 20 medals, while Great Britain (8 golds) and Germany (5 golds) remain in close pursuit. Sunday’s final session will award the last six European titles and bring this memorable edition in Anadia to a close.
