The fourth day of the UEC Juniors and Under-23 Track European Championships, held in Anadia until Sunday, was once again marked by a historic moment: Great Britain’s Erin Boothman set a new world record in the Junior Women’s 1000m Time Trial, clocking 1:08.253 during the qualification round. The previous record of 1:10.421 had been set by Australia’s Ella Liang in March 2025.
The day’s programme also included the crowning of new European champions in the omnium and points race events across both junior and under-23 categories.
In the Junior Men’s Omnium, the title went to Henry Hobbs (Great Britain), who scored 167 points overall. He was followed by Nathan Marcoux (France) and Witse Bertels (Belgium). In the Junior Women’s Omnium, Polina Danshina claimed gold ahead of Ida Dam Fialla (Denmark) and Leyre Almena Requena (Spain).
Among the under-23 riders, Federico Ceolin (Italy) secured the men’s omnium title, with Max Rushby (Great Britain) and Stefan Bötticher (Germany) completing the podium. In the women’s event, Federica Venturelli (Italy) took her second European title of the week, adding omnium gold to her individual pursuit win. The German duo Julia Schuster and Jana Majunke finished second and third, respectively.
The points races concluded the day’s action. In the junior category, Leyre Almena Requena (Spain) and Thomas Van Nunen (Netherlands) were crowned champions. In the under-23 finals, the victories went to Renato Favero (Italy) and Alena Ivanchenko.
With Friday’s results, 30 of the 44 European titles have now been awarded. Italy continues to lead the medal table with 8 golds and 17 total medals, but the battle for the top spots remains close, with Great Britain and Germany still in strong contention heading into the final weekend.
